EBU Summer Seniors congress at Eastbourne - Swiss Pairs

THREE Hertfordshire bridge players were in the team which won the Swiss teams at the EBU Summer Seniors congress at Eastbourne.

Top of the field of about 100 teams was Roger Edmonds and David Stimson, playing with Dave Dickson and his London partner Mike Hill.

David, who plays at Hemel Hempstead Bridge Club, said: "The pair that Roger and I were originally going to partner couldn't make it, but before we started playing in the pairs, Dave Dickson and Mike suggested we joined them.

"That turned out to be a good choice !

"We were on Table One for the last four rounds, but near the end we thought we'd blown it."
